BREW GUIDE
Some of our favorite brew methods. These are suggestions to get you started. Play with the ratios and dial in your preference. Recommended water temperature: 195˚ — 203˚
AEROPRESS
The designer of the Aerobie flying disc came up with this design to make better single-serving coffee. While it produces a short, concentrated brew, it is not an espresso substitute.
Water: Coffee — 16:1
Grind: Fine (slightly finer than sea salt)
Coffee: 14g
Water: 220ml
Brew time: 2 min
POUROVER
A flat-bottom, like the Kalita Wave brewer, or a cone dripper like the Hario V60 is your primary equipment here. You can find them made in plastic, metal, glass or ceramic. Use a paper filter (pre-rinse it in the dripper with hot water), ground coffee and slowly add hot water.
A Clever Coffee Dripper (CCD) combines the full immersion brew of French press with the drip thru of pour over. You need a CCD, a paper filter (pre-rinse with your hot water), hot water, and Radio Roasters coffee.
Water: Coffee — 16:1
Grind: Medium-Coarse
Coffee: 21g
Water: 340ml
Brew time: 3-4 min
CHEMEX
6 CUP
A classic introduced in 1941, this coffee maker and its iconic carafe is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. More importantly, it's simple and brews a very clean cup. Need a Chemex filter, hot water, and our ground coffee.
Water: Coffee — 16:1
Grind: Medium-Coarse
Coffee: 60g
Water: 1000ml
Brew time: 5-6 min
FRENCH PRESS
6 CUP
The French Press uses a metal filter that allows the natural oils and fine particles from the coffee beans to pass through right into your cup. This is why French Press coffee is much richer and heartier than other brewing methods that use a paper filter.
Water: Coffee — 15:1
Grind: Very Coarse (like crumbs)
Coffee: 60g
Water: 900ml
Brew time: 4 min
